1.) Next Group Run - Tuesday, August 31

The next SF Runs free community group run will be this Tuesday, August 31 at 6:00 pm. This run will start and finish at the Exploratorium and all paces are welcome. Advance registration is required. Learn more and register via Eventbrite here.

2.) Last Call for the 100th Statuto Race!

Less than 15 spots remain before registration closes for the 100th Statuto Race! This milestone event will be on October 24, 2021 and starts/finishes at the SF Italian Athletic Club in North Beach. Registration includes a t-shirt and all finishers will receive a commemorative 100th Statuto Race medal (you can view the medal design on the race website).

There are two distance options -- an 8K run and 2 mile walk. Members of the SF Runs community can save $5 on registration with code "sfruns". Learn more and register at StatutoRace.com.

3.) Virtual Event: Celebrate the Bay with the Bay Day Trail Challenge!

If you enjoy the SF Bay Trail and are looking for a fun virtual event this Fall, the 2021 Bay Day Trail Challenge may be just the ticket!

The 2021 Bay Day Trail Challenge virtual event is an initiative of Save The Bay, the largest regional organization working to protect, restore, and celebrate the San Francisco Bay. SF Runs is excited to be assisting Save The Bay with this year's event, which is designed to encourage exploration and celebration of the SF Bay Trail and other Bay Area locations. Here are some of the event details:

  • Registration is free and the first 200 registrants will receive a complimentary t-shirt!

  • To complete the Bay Day Trail Challenge you need to either complete 25 miles during the month of October (by running, walking, biking, etc.) or complete 5 bay-related activities during October.

  • You can create or join teams for this event. SF Runs will have a team, which you're welcome to join!

  • Registration will open during the first week of September. To learn more and register, visit BayDay.org

4.) Upcoming SF Bay Area races (complete calendar at sfruns.com)

5.) Job Listings

If you're looking for a job or know someone who is, Green Jobs Network (a separate initiative I work on) recently published its August jobs newsletter, containing more than 150 environmental and social impact job opportunities (including remote jobs). This newsletter is free and can be viewed online via this link.
